The Body Scanner That Kim Kardashian Is Obsessed With

Rooting for Better Hair? How Dyson is bringing science, skincare thinking and tech innovation to the scalp

For years, haircare innovation has focused on tools, styling and surface-level results. But a new wave of beauty technology is asking a deeper question: what if healthier hair starts long before the blow-dry? Dyson’s latest scalp-focused launch marks a subtle but significant shift — from styling performance to biological foundations. By treating the scalp with the same intention as skincare, the brand is reframing hair health as a long-term, tech-led ecosystem rather than a quick cosmetic fix. It’s a move that signals where beauty tech is heading next: deeper, smarter, and rooted in science.

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to health tech, in fact, she publicly adores her Oura ring, and even shares her sleep scores with her 363 million followers. Ms Kardashians latest health tech adventures have led her down the MRI scan rabbit hole, with Prenuvo.

What is Prenuvo?

Prenuvo offers a whole body health screening scan, assessing the whole anatomy, muscles, organs and spine.

Kim Kardashian dedicated a static grid post to he experience with Prenuvo, with the caption reading:

‘I recently did this @prenuvo scan and had to tell you all about this life saving machine. The Prenuvo full-body scan has the ability to detect cancer and diseases such as aneurysms in its earliest stages, before symptoms arise. It was like getting an MRI for an hour with no radiation. It has really saved some of my friends lives and I just wanted to share #NotAnAd’ ~ Kim Kardashian

Combines the high fidelity Head & Torso scan with a detailed spine evaluation to detect disc herniation, spinal cord abnormalities, and spinal degeneration. Also scans for musculoskeletal conditions, fatty liver disease, and multiple sclerosis. Ankles may not be visible for people taller than 5’9” or 175cm. Arms and feet are not included

The healthcare system today can be reactive and slow to diagnose disease, leading to poor health outcomes for many diagnosed conditions. Diagnostic MRI, while widely considered to be one of the most valuable imaging modalities, is often used quite late because it is slow and therefore expensive. Because of this slowness, screening using MRI was impractical — diagnostic quality scans would either take 3-4 hours, be painful to go through and prohibitively expensive or clinics would cut corners and take non-diagnostic scans, leading to lower accuracy and more unnecessary follow-up. Prenuvo solved the speed problem in MRI using proprietary acquisition protocols that have been honed over 10 years of performing diagnostic screening exams for patients all over the world.

Many research studies are showing that AI can play a pivotal role in imaging, either through making radiologists more efficient and making fewer mistakes or in eventually replacing radiologists for some tasks. Because of this promise, Prenuvo invests heavily in AI. AI approaches are increasingly complementing our core clinical pipeline. Notably, we are excited about the power of AI to make imaging more quantitative and accurate which in turn could lead to earlier diagnoses and more successful interventions.

Kim’s influence really knows no bounds, with her celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton commenting ‘I literally booked in for this next week’.
