OURA Launches New Health Monitoring Feature, “Symptom Radar”

Why Emma Chamberlain’s Cafe Is a Big Deal

Emma Chamberlain’s rise from YouTube star to CEO is more than a personal success story — it’s a blueprint for how creators can build lasting businesses. With a slow, strategic rollout of her coffee brand and the opening of her first physical café in Los Angeles, Chamberlain is showing what’s possible when creators prioritise trust, taste, and long-term thinking over quick wins.

ŌURA is proud to announce the launch of Symptom Radar, a groundbreaking feature designed to help members stay ahead of their health. Built on years of research and millions of data points, Symptom Radar analyzes your unique biometric trends each morning to detect early signs of strain from respiratory symptoms. Whether you’re tracking wellness trends or looking for early indicators of a cold or flu, Symptom Radar provides personalized, actionable insights to support proactive health management.

ŌURA is introducing Symptom Radar, the first feature developed in Oura Labs to become a permanent part of the Oura App. This tool uses members’ biometric data to detect early signs of respiratory strain, offering proactive health insights every morning.

Key Updates & Features:

  • Symptom Detection: Symptom Radar analyzes metrics like resting heart rate, HRV, temperature trends, and breathing rate to detect deviations from your personal baseline. It categorizes results into three levels:
    • No Signs
    • Minor Signs
    • Major Signs
  • Actionable Insights: If minor or major signs are detected, members are encouraged to activate Rest Mode and focus on recovery.
  • Enhanced User Experience:
    • history graph helps users track trends over time.
    • Detailed explanations show which biometric markers triggered the alert.

How It Works:

ŌURA uses its proprietary algorithms and highly accurate temperature data (99% lab-standard accuracy) to flag even subtle deviations, such as a +0.5°C/+1°F rise in overnight skin temperature.

Development Journey:

  • Inspired by TemPredict (2020), a study demonstrating Oura’s ability to detect fever signs in 76% of cases.
  • Built on millions of data tags, the algorithm powering Symptom Radar has been refined to improve accuracy and reliability.

Symptom Radar empowers members to take control of their health by providing clear, early indicators of cold or flu-like symptoms.
