Goodbye Cuffing Season, Hello Wildflowering

Why Emma Chamberlain’s Cafe Is a Big Deal

Emma Chamberlain’s rise from YouTube star to CEO is more than a personal success story — it’s a blueprint for how creators can build lasting businesses. With a slow, strategic rollout of her coffee brand and the opening of her first physical café in Los Angeles, Chamberlain is showing what’s possible when creators prioritise trust, taste, and long-term thinking over quick wins.

Carefree, spontaneous dating is in full bloom – just like the season.

Longer days, lighter evenings, and warmer weather aren’t just a mood boost — they’re shaping a whole new dating energy. According to new insights from Bumble, the women-first dating app, 72% of UK singles say they’re planning to go on more dates this spring. And the stats back it up — in 2024, Bumble saw a noticeable spike in new members and in-app activity from April to May.

This season’s vibe? Wildflowering — a playful new dating trend defined by freedom, spontaneity, and fun. Like wildflowers growing wherever they want, singles are leaning into dating on their own terms, unfiltered and unapologetically flirty. Over a third (35%) of daters say their spring dating style is light, lively, and low-pressure — particularly among women and Gen Z, who are ready to shake off winter’s emotional weight and enjoy the ride.

The stats are in, and spring has definitely sprung:

New season, new standards – 57% of daters say they’ve used spring as an excuse for a romantic reset: ending stale connections, blocking situationships, and starting fresh.
Flirt mode: on – 61% say they feel more playful and flirtatious as the temperature rises.
Confidence in bloom – Another 57% feel bolder in spring, making them more likely to make the first move, ditch the pressure, and put fun first.

Bumble Sexologist Chantelle Otten breaks it down:

“Spring naturally lifts our mood, energy, and desire to connect. ‘Wildflowering’ is about dating freely — with confidence, spontaneity, and zero pressure. It’s not just a cute term — it reflects the psychological shift that happens when we emerge from the winter slump and start saying yes to possibility.”

Still, while dating might be feeling more playful, it doesn’t mean throwing standards out the window. Chantelle suggests three post-date questions to help keep your focus clear:

  • Did I actually have fun, or was I just trying to impress?
  • Did I feel confident and myself, or did I shrink to fit in?
  • Was I enjoying this person, or could I have had more fun flirting with a friend?

Want to date more intentionally and spontaneously?

Bumble’s new ‘Discover’ feature helps you do both. It curates compatible matches daily based on shared values, interests, and communities — all personalised to your profile. The more you update your interests, select your dating intentions, and engage on the app, the better your Discover page becomes.

Spring is for blooming — in dating, in confidence, and in connection. So whether you’re after a fling, a spark, or something more, now’s the time to follow the wildflowers.
