The World’s First Luxury Space Hotel Set for 2027 Launch

Are You Just Roommates? Expert Warns of Rising ‘Parallel Living’ Trend in Relationships

Couples may be spending more time together than ever, but many are drifting further apart. Relationship expert Steffo Shambo warns that a rising trend known as “parallel living”—where partners share the same space but remain emotionally disconnected—is quietly damaging modern love. With technology stealing attention and screens replacing eye contact, experts fear couples could be turning into housemates rather than lovers without even realising it.

In a bold stride toward the future of hospitality and space exploration, Above: Space Development Corporation (formerly Orbital Assembly Corporation) has unveiled plans for Voyager Station—a luxury space hotel poised to redefine travel. Scheduled to commence construction in 2026 and welcome guests by 2027, Voyager Station aims to be the first commercial space hotel, offering an unparalleled experience in low Earth orbit.

A Rotating Haven in Space

Drawing inspiration from Wernher von Braun’s 1950s designs, Voyager Station will feature a rotating wheel structure to generate artificial gravity, approximately one-sixth that of Earth’s. This design not only ensures guest comfort but also facilitates daily activities akin to those on Earth, such as dining and sleeping. The station’s architecture includes a central docking hub connected by spokes to an outer ring, which will house 24 habitation modules. These modules will encompass hotel suites, luxury villas, restaurants, bars, gyms, and research facilities.

Luxury Meets Innovation

Voyager Station is set to accommodate up to 400 guests and 112 crew members. Guests can expect amenities comparable to high-end Earth-based resorts, including gourmet dining, entertainment venues, and recreational activities. Unique to the space environment, the station will offer low-gravity activities such as trampolining and basketball, providing guests with experiences unattainable on Earth.

Accessibility and Future Prospects

While initial stays are projected to cost around $5 million for a three-and-a-half-day experience, Above: Space Development Corporation envisions a future where space travel becomes more accessible. The company is also developing Pioneer Station, a smaller facility designed to accommodate 28 guests, which could become operational sooner and serve as a stepping stone toward broader space tourism .

As the boundaries between science fiction and reality continue to blur, Voyager Station represents a significant leap toward making space a destination not just for astronauts, but for everyday travelers seeking the ultimate getaway.
